CARTWRIGHT John
John Edward Cartwright
John passed away at home and his absence leaves a void that will never be truly filled. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and pets.
His wife Marcia and children Travis and Karina were the most important people in his life.
He was a complex person and generous to a fault. He was extremely clever with a thirst for knowledge that saw him devour books. He filled his days with gardening, reading and completing crossword puzzles, even if it took the whole weekend. He was a handyman who loved to make and fix things. He had a passion for travel both in Australia and the world, and would share his jokes and stories with anyone that would listen.
Due to COVID restrictions, a limited gathering will be held to remember and honour John's life on Monday 26th October at 11am (EST). Please feel welcome to view John's service by clicking on the livestream link as shown below. For those attending, please bring flowers from your garden for placement on John's coffin...
There will be a special gathering of family and friends at a celebration of John's life at a later date to be advised.
John was a man who spoke his mind and shared
His knowledge . He was always pottering and creating.
My dear friend Miss Marcia was the love of his life and he hers.
Many great memories shared together will be remembered forever.
I can’t remember a family event when John wasn’t there. Always ready for chat about travel or what Travis and Karina were up to or describing his favourite Belgian beers.
John will be sadly missed.
All our love to Marcia, Travis and Karina.
Quentin, Audrey and family
RIP Uncle John xx
Such sad news in such a terrible time, our thoughts are with you all today,
Love Michelle, Lennon and Ella
We will never forget the great support John gave to others when
needed, thankyou John, forever in our hearts. Our family gatherings will never be the same without the man with the intelligent, witty conversations, love of books, gardening and Ireland. We will miss his cheeky grin and laugh. John, if you’re looking down and listening thankyou for being a loving and supportive husband to my sister Marcia, and father to my niece Karina and nephew Travis. It has been such a sudden and tragic loss of a wonderful man. You will be missed immensely. Condolences to all John’s family and friends and Bud.
